Catholic Charities Changes Its Name

Catholic Charities of Colorado Springs will officially become Catholic Charities of Central Colorado on July 1, 2011. The name was changed to better reflect the service area, which aligns with the Diocese of Colorado Springs. This area encompass a 10 county area from just south of Denver to the southern El Paso County line; and from the Kansas border to the western line of Lake and Chaffee counties. It includes Lake, Chaffee, Park, Teller, Douglas, El Paso, Elbert, Lincoln, Cheyenne, and Kit Carson counties. Catholic Charities also has a DBA (doing business as) Catholic Charities of Colorado Springs to cover contracts and materials with the previous name.

There are two other Catholic Charities in Colorado: Catholic Charities, Archdiocese of Denver and Catholic Charities, Diocese of Pueblo. Between the three agencies, services are available throughout the state.
